UAE MOH License for Healthcare Professionals
Ministry of Health and Prevention licensing for the Northern Emirates
MOH Licensing Overview
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOH) license is the federal licensing pathway for healthcare professionals in the United Arab Emirates — covering the Northern Emirates (Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain) as well as being a common route for professionals whose eventual goal is to practice anywhere in the UAE outside Dubai and Abu Dhabi's separate regulators.
At Med Solutions Academy, we help healthcare professionals navigate every stage of MOH licensing — from verifying credentials to passing the licensing exam — with a structured, no-guesswork approach.
Who Needs an MOH License?
MOH licensing applies to healthcare professionals seeking to practice in the UAE's federal healthcare sector and the Northern Emirates, including:
- Physicians across general practice and recognized specialties
- Nurses and midwives
- Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
- Dentists and dental specialists
- Allied health professionals across diagnostic, therapeutic, and technical roles

The MOH Licensing Journey
While exact requirements vary by profession and specialty, the overall pathway generally follows these four stages:
Eligibility Assessment
MOH evaluates your qualifications, licensing history, and clinical experience against requirements for your profession and specialty before you invest time and money.
- Profession and specialty details
- Highest qualification (degree / diploma)
- Years of relevant clinical experience
- Current or previous license history (if any)
DataFlow / PSV
Independent verification of educational credentials, professional licenses, and experience certificates through DataFlow Group — often the slowest stage if documents are incomplete.
- Degree certificate and transcripts
- Professional license / registration certificates
- Experience letters from employers
- Passport copy and clear scanned documents
Prometric / Licensing Exam
Most professions must pass a Prometric computer-based exam assessing clinical competency, drawn from your profession's official MOH blueprint.
- Eligibility confirmation for your profession
- Study plan mapped to the MOH exam blueprint
- Practice with MCQs and full-length mock exams
License Application & Issuance
After verification and exam completion, your application proceeds to MOH for final approval, generally with employment sponsorship in the Northern Emirates.
- Completed DataFlow / PSV report
- Passed licensing exam result
- Employer / facility sponsorship details (for issuance)
